IRPC Public Company Limited (IRPC),the first integrated petrochemical pioneer in Southeast Asia, has expanded its facilities to increase the Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) powder production from 11,000 to 17,000 million metric tons a year. By utilizing Agglomeration Process technology, the operating polymerization batch time is 45% reduced, similarly to recover 278 tons a year of Butadiene from its production process.
ABS powder is the high-quality thermoplastic, well balance properties and provides favorable mechanical properties such as toughness, rigidity, great impact resistance. It also has good abrasive, thermal and chemical resistance characteristics when comparing to other plastics. ABS is widely used in various applications, automotive components, enclosures for electrical and electronic assemblies, toys, furniture and small kitchen appliances, etc.
For this project, GC Maintenance and Engineering Company Limited (GCME) was the Engineering and Procurement Management Contractor (EPm Contractor), provided the service of detailed engineering and equipment procurement until the project is completed and able to be successfully operated per IRPC requirements.
